Number of binoculars are good, but for most people, 8X is the highest power to hand have. If you are consistent, you can test to protect up to 10 times, but it would also be against something constant. With the 11X would be very difficult, they are stable enough to actually see anything.
I agree with the reaction of others. 11x56 against them as a handheld. 1. They are heavy 2nd very powerful. Some people in May 10x50 constant. Purchase no more than 8x40. I have some time, a 12x50 and I could not stop, they are stable enough. But I 10x50. If you have your heart set on 11x56, invest in a tripod to go with them. Or even better: 20x80. Even if the monsters and completely useless for any other use.
One thing to consider. When you buy a pair of binoculars for astronomy Strickland, then get bored with the hobby, not a lot of value for other activities. But a good pair of 8x40 can be used for multiple purposes - especially observe birds.
For the binoculars in a dark sky when you're young, you have to almost the lowest, at 7th
If you are older (like 40) or observations in the suburbs, then you want 5, 10x 50, 11x 56th
But for $ 160, you can get a telescope, perhaps even a little good spot Apatura!
It is have very close to the 10x50, that I with no problem. The 56mm objective allows the display of certain objects is relatively low, and 56/11 = 5 mm exit pupil is placed for easy viewing.
Make sure you fully optical and get polyarticulated prism design. I find it much easier to make and astronomy telescope sits on a deck chair. Get a book on astronomy binoculars, like Patrick Moore.

Once power is a bit too high for the use of pocket, you will find the picture a bit after a jump a few minutes. I went with a 7x35 or 8x40-ISH flag handheld.
If you can spend $ 160, I would be filled with "multiple" optics, which means that each has a glare-free optical surface mutilayered go. This is not the same as "multi-layer coated or fully.
